A Place to Connect, a Goal to Empower

The goal of the Family Resource and Referral Center is to connect our currently enrolled students with supportive community networks, resources, and opportunities to rid obstacles interfering with their success. The Resource and Referral Center is part of the Corinth/Alcorn Excel by 5 Certified Community, located at Corinth Elementary School room 101.

Our experienced staff are available to help identify and connect families to resources and services in our community and state based on their child’s specific needs. In addition to health information, they can connect families to resources related to insurance, finances, education, food security, and more.

Through referrals, direct service and outside agency coordination, our students will gain access, information and support to address specific needs and gain self-sufficiency. We connect students to community and government agencies, healthcare providers and other partner organizations to address their immediate and/or long term needs and goals.

Community resource fairs and workshops are held throughout the year to explore, expand and strengthen ties to the community and provide important resources for students.

Homeless Education

In accordance with the McKinney-Vento Act, local education agencies must ensure that homeless students have equal access to the same free appropriate public education as provided to other students.

The Corinth School District Homeless Education Program is facilitated through the Family Resource Center. The Resource Center is responsible for making sure homeless students are enrolled immediately, assisting families in getting school and immunization records, ensuring student transportation, educating families of all school and community resources, settling disputes between schools and families, and informing the community of homeless students' rights.

Referral to Community Agencies

The Family Resource Center can provide you and your family with referrals to various health care agencies, financial resources, and community organizations.

Each year the Family Resource Center creates a Resource Directory to include the most up-to-date information on services such as day care, medical care, mental health services, housing assistance, social services agencies, nutrition programs, juvenile services, substance abuse counseling and many other sources of information for Corinth School District residents.
